DOUGLAS CREDIT ADVOCATES [BY TELKGEAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT! TIMARU, Thursdav Timaru has joined with Continental towns in having its emotions roused b.V political "coloured shirts." Advocating the adoption of the Douglas social credit scheme as a panacea for the Dominion's economic troubles, a party of "Green Shirts" addressed a public gathering last night. The party, which is headed by Messrs. A. It. Allardyco and D. C. Davis, of Christchurch. is making a, motor camping tour of the South Island, speaking at the main towns en route. The visitors arrived at Timaru wearing grey flannel trousers, green shirts, tartan ties and tweed hats. They presented a picturesque sight. In England and Australia adherents of the Douglas credit system have worn green shirts for some time.
