THE LATE REV. S. E. HILL

FUNERAL LARGELY ATTENDED The funeral of the Rev. S. E. Hill, Presbyterian minister at Ellerslie for the past stiven and a-half years, which took place at Hillsborough Cemetery yesterday afternoon, was very largely attended. Representatives of the Auckland Presbytery and numerous Church organisations were present. The funeral left Mr. Hill's residence for the Ellerslie Presbyterian Church, where a service was conducted by the Rev. J. A. Thomson, Moderator of the Auckland Presbytery, and the Revs. A. M. Eliffe and W. Mawson, and left later for the Hillsborough Cemetery. The graveside service was conducted by the Revs. Thomson. M. A. Gow and A. McD. Aspland. There were about 30 motor-cars in the cortege. The pallbearers were Messrs. S. J. B. Hill, T. G. C. Hill and J. R. Hill. sons, the Rev. J. Lopdell, an old Mr. W. A. Cowan, representing the managers of the Ellerslie Church, and Mr. R. H. Mather, representing the Church session. At the service in the church reference was made to the esteem in which Mr. Hill was held. His had been a noble life of service and love. A memorial service to Mr. Hill will be held in the Ellerslie Church on Sunday evening by the Rev. George Budd, an old friend and colleague*
