POLICE TRANSFER
INSPECTOR G. B. EDWARDS POSITION IN WELLINGTON After serving in Auckland since April last in an executive position in the Police Department, Inspector G. B. Edwards is to leave shortly for Wellington, where he will take over the position occupied by Inspector J. Lander, transferred to Wanganui. Inspector Edwards, who is recognised as an ablo prosecutor, joined the Police Force at Dunedin in 1905. Since then he has served in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, and at one stage he was a senior sergeant in Auckland. He was also in charge of the police training depot in Wellington. He came to Auckland as a subinspector, replacing Inspector T. Shanahan, who was transferred to Dunedin, and he was promoted to the rank of inspector in July. His successor has hot been announced.
