ESSAY ON SHIPPING
An essay competition on " r Jhe suture of British Shipping in the Pacific,!' which vas held by the Royal Empire Society mid was open to secondary school pui)ils, has been won bv Barbara Bates, Diocesan Girls' High School. The prize is a trip on the Hati'aki Gulf cruise to be made by the Monowai. Second and third places were secured by J. Goodwin. Auckland Grnmmar School, and Molly McGechie, *'iocesan Girls' High School. The examiner was Professor C. ]W. Ecerton.
