Mr. H. L. Towers, of Auckland, ha 3 been appointed manager of the Zealand amateur athletic team which is to compete at the Centenary Games in Melbourne at the end of this month Mr. Towers, who is on the staff 0 f the Mount Albert Grammar School, has been honorary secretary of the Auckland Amateur Athletic Centre for the past few years.

Mr. T. A. Blair, assistant-general manager of the Vacuum Oil Companr in Victoria, has been promoted to the position of general manager for the State. He was formerly manager in Auckland of the Atlas Assurance Company and resigned in 1926 to accept an appointment as assistant-general manager of the Vacuum Oil Company in New Zealand. He was later transferred to Melbourne. Mr. J. C. Leitch. a son of Mr. Walter Leiteh. of Christchurch, has been appointed assistantgeneral manager of the Vacuum Oil Company in Victoria.
