SOUTH AFRICAN TEAM

COMING ENGLISH TOUR

FAST BOWLER'S INCLUSION CAPETOWN. Jan. 4 The South African cricket team to tour England will comprise the following players:—H. F. Wade (captain), Cameron (vice-captain), Siedle, Mitchell, A. D. Nourse, jun., Dalton, R. J. Williams (reserve wicketkeeper), R. J. Crisp, Bell, Vincent, Viljoen, Balaskas, D. Tomlinson, A. B. Langton, E. A. Rowan. There is universal satisfaction at the selection of the team, but the surprise is the inclusion of the fast bowler Bell, who has not played in first-class cricket since his return from the Australian and New Zealand tours. It is understood that Bell's .inclusion was actuated by the adoption of the amended leg-before-wicket rule, because with his dangerous in-swinger he ought to prove a most useful bowler.

In tho team there are eight firstclass batsmen and eight bowlers, including four of tho O'Reilly and Grimmett type.
