RECORD NOT ESTABLISHED MR. WILEY POSTS FAILURE (Received December 13, 6.40 p.m.) NEW YORK, Dec 12 A message from Bartlesville, Oklahoma, states thai; Mr. Wiley Post was informed to-day by the United States Bureau of Standards that he failed on last week's flight to reach the altitude of -48,086 ft. necessary to set a world altitude record. The record of Lieutenant Eenato Donati, of Italy, still stands.
