SNOWY RIVER LOSS Accounts of the Snowy River Sluicing Company (West Coast) for the year ended December 31, 1933, show a loss of £llll, making a total debit of £I2BO. v The directors report that the amount of gold won to October 14, 1934, was 161J0z., valued at £llOO. As sluicing proceeded it was found that the rich ground at the bottom of the wash was riddled with tunnels and workings of previous operators, . who; had treated much of the payable bottom. Nearly all the gold was to be?fe found within seven or eight feet of ■§ the bottom, and it was unevenly distributod
WAITAHU STOPPAGE Owing to shortage of water, the Waitahu Gold Mining Company (near Grevmouth) has temporarily ceased work at the claim KILDARE OPTION An option for- the purchase of th» company's mining privileges and plant for £35,000 cash has been given by the directors of the Kildare Consolidated Gold Mining Company, Limited (Central Otago).
