FORD V-8 (These Tyres Finally ' Completed over 37,000 Miles) It is seven months since I fitted my Ford V-8 with Michelin Real Low Pressure 160 x 40. They have done more than 16*000 miles, and from appearances should last till about 25,000. They still remain skid-proof, and braking is excellent. After using balloon tyres these new Low Pressure are a wonderful improvement, and :remarkß are very frequent regarding the extremely comfortable riding over roughest roads. STERLING PERFORMANCE ON A CHRYSLER SIX I have been using your Real Low Pressure Tyres on my Chrysler Six car for the past four months, and during that time have covered 6000 miles over all kinds of roads. I am pleased to state that I' am more than satisfied with the remarkable performance of the tyres, particularly the elimination of shock and vibration on pot-holed and corrugated roads, the skid-resisting qualities on wet bitumen roads, the feeling of security on hair-pin bends, and the fact that 1 have found no increase in petrol consumption, much to my surprise. I fitted 250 "x 20 Real Low Pressure Tyres on my Latil Bus, and the following facts have convinced me and converted me to 100% Michelin RLJP. Since fitting your R.L.P. my petrol consumption has been reduced 5%, spring.and shackle bolt repairs by 100%, and the braking is 25% more efficient. Back end replacements cost me a mint of money, but since fitting R.L.P.'s I have not spent a penny on it. Your tyres have been on the back wheels for 16 months, and during that time they have run 40,000 miles with the tread still showing. I reckon on another 20,000 before the tyres are run out. The tyres previously fitted were 36 x 6 and only lasted me three months, doing a small mileage of 10,000 miles. I carry 22 passengers in my bus and have to start on a grade of 1 in 20 and I in 15, which makes a great strain on the tyres, and when it comes to corrugated or loose metal roads 'the R.L.P# s take all the shocks and there is no wheel spin. Since then I have driven 4900 miles over all classes of roads, including a trip to Whangarei and back in a day. Previous to this I made a trip to Wellington, the journey back being made in 16 hours. The tread wear so far is barely noticeable. The difference in comfort, riding on Real Low Pressure Tyres, is very marked, and it is possible to hold speeds on the worst road surfaces without spinning or discomfort from road shock or swaying, as can be judged from the time taken on the Wellington trip. As I was doubtful regarding the petrol mileage I would get, I have carefully checked the performance fitting the R.L.P. tyres, and • find a slightly increased mileage compared with a similar model Austin fitted on standard balloons, my average now being 49 miles per gallon. I was one of the first to fit Real Low Pressure tyres in Auckland and .can recommend with authority. The mileage to date is 9102. The back tyres have not been changed to the front, and by all appearances the back tyres are good for another 9000 miles. They affect the power of the car but little, are beauti- . ful to ride over, and must reflect favourably on the genera] wear and tear of thq car. The steering is definitely not affected.
