THE WILD BURNET
Sir, —I cannot give " Tynesider " information regarding the making of wine from the wild buraet flower, although I know that wine is made from the flower, and that it is very good for bloodless and nervous people. I come from the Whitehaven district, northwest Cumberland. The Burnet plant is very plentiful in the Ennerdale, Gosforth, St. Bees and Eskdale districts, but I have not seen Tt in the North Island during the 14 years I have been in New Zealand. 1 know the plant well, and woidd be pleased to see it growing here, as it is a valuable herb. Rotowaro, A. Thwaitks.
