FALSE PRETENCES
ALLEGATION AGAINST MAORI A labourer, Tarakaihuanga Maupakanga, aged 41 (Mr. Noble), appeared before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday on a charge of obtaining from Edward Percy Earle, registrar of the Waikato-Maniapoto district, Maori Land Board, with intent to defraud, a cheque for JL'S.i 4s 9d by falsely representing ho was Ilakaraia Tarakihuanga.
On the application of Senior Detective Hall accused was remanded until Thursday. Bail was fixed at £IOO.
