DAVIS CUP MATCHES CANADIAN POSITION POSSIBLE WITHDRAWAL (Received December 12, 5.5 p.m.) OTTAWA, Dec. 11 Unless the United States agrees to play a tie in the North American zone of Davis Cup matches later in the year than hitherto, Canada will not enter the competition in 1935. The Council of the Canadian Lawn Tennis Association announced to-night that it would like matches in the middle of June instead of early in May on account of Canadian players, who have no winter play, not being ready so early, and for financial reasons. If Canada does not enter for the Davis Cup, Canadian players may be sent abroad to Wimbledon and European tournaments.
