DENTAL CLINIC EXPENSES A remit from the Newton School committee suggesting that all dental clinics should be free was discussed at the quarterly meeting of the Auckland School Committees' Association last night. It was decided to adopt the remit in the following form: — "That all dental clinics be relieved of the annual levy of £3O made by the Health Department." Strong support was given to a nemit by the Northcote District High School committee that information on the main roads and highways of New Zealand should be included in the teaching of geography. It was pointed out that, with modern motor transport, a knowledge of the main routes in the Dominion would be of creat value. A decision was made to forward to the Dominion executive of the_ association a proposal by the Normal School Parents' Association that the Education Board bo urged to synchronise the holidays of secondary and prima rv schools. A'remit from the Parnell School committee that the basis of grading and staffing public schools should be on the average roll and not the average attendance was adopted.
