ARRESTED GERMAN MURDER CHARGE TO PROCEED (Received October 21, 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK. Oct, 20 The legal manoeuvres of the German carpenter Bei'nard Hauptmann to escape trial on the charge of murdering the infant son of Colonel and Mrs. Charles Lindbergh have proved futile. The Appeal Court has upheld the Lower Court's dismissal of the application for a writ of habeas corpus. ' Hauptmann has been taken to Flemington, New Jersey, where his trial will take place next month.
