PARLIAMENTARY TEA
The large reception room at the Old Parliamentary Buildings, Wellington, was crowded 011 Thursday a/ternooti when Mrs.' G. W. Forbes gave an extremely pleasant party to a large number of friends, including the wives of members of the Legislative Council, House of Representatives and officials. The long tea tabl.es were decorated with high, clear-glass vases filled with long-stemmed Iceland poppies in their many charming tints of yellow and cream. Smaller bowls had anemones, and the general effect was artistic. Mrs. Forbes received the guests wearing black lace over' black chiffon, panelled in the skirt and with transparent sleeves and neckline. Her wide black hat of Baku fine straw had a toning band finished in the front with a flower made of dainty pale pink feathers. A shoulder posy to tone w-as worn, and a bouquet of lilies of the valley carried. »
