Lillington, of Brixton, celebrated their golden wedUing on September 8. The couple made a runaway marriage because they were afraid the girl's parents would not agree. But there was a reconciliation afterwards. " We have had seven children," Mrs. Lillington said. " My husband was earning 35s as a clerk when wo married. "Mr. Lillington was born in Westminster and if he had been married at St. John's Church there he would have been entitled to a gift of £SO under an old bequest. But we were so anxious to marry that we did not risk going to a church so near home," Mrs. Lillington said.
