LIGHT-WEIGHT BRICK
USE IN INTERIORS Owing to the limited demand for building materials in New Zealand, due to the depression, there has been for some time very keen competition between the rival suppliers. The manufacturers of bricks havo now come forward with a novelty in the form of a light-weight brick suitable for interior subdivision work. One of the first large buildings in which tho new materials have been used is the National Art Gallery in Wellington, a quarter of a million of the bricks being required in the structure. It is claimed that the new bricks are almost sound proof, and that they are ideal for interior subdivisions. They are about half the weight of the ordinary brick, although they are of the same measurement.
