BAND FESTIVAL
THE SALVATION ARMY A Salvation Army band festival, to be attended bv about 300 bandsmen from all parts of the Dominion, will be held in Wellington during the weekend. Six bands will compete and, in addition, many individual piajers from other bands are expected to be present. The Auckland Congress Hall Band, under Major S. Hayes, left by the limited express last evening. Programmes will be given in the Wellington Town Hall to-night and tomorrow afternoon, while the Congress Hall Band will give a special concert in the Salvation Army Citadel on Monday night. There will also be talks and demonstrations by prominent bandmasters.
