SHORTAGE OF LORRIES COMPLAINTS AT DARGAVILLE [bv telegraph —own correspondent] V HANGAR EI, Friday "There is a good deal of criticism in Dargaville and other areas concerning lack of trucks available for metal contracting and road construction work, said Mr. \Y. Jones, chairman of the No. 1 Transport Licensing Authority, at a meeting to-day. "The reason is that one-truck operators cannot carry out metal contracting for local bodies and also faitluullv carry general goods for settlers in teims of their various licences," continued Mr Jones. "1 feel sure a definite distinction will have to be made shortly so that a one-truck operator cannot have a licence for both classes of work. All operators must realise that this year they will be called upon to produce records showing exactly what class of work they have been doing, otherwise they will be in great danger of losing their licences."
