HIGH COMMISSIONER
TERM EXTENDED ANOTHER YEAR IN LONDON SIR JAMES PARR'S WORK [BY TELEGRAPH —SPECIAL REPORTER] ' WELLINGTON, Friday Sir ,fames Parr, High Commissioner for New Zealand in London, has accepted the appointment in that position for a further 12 months as from December next. The Prime Minister, Mr. Forbes. 111 making this announcement to-day. expressed the pleasure of the Government at the extension of the term. Sii James Parr had been in touch with the British Government regarding the meat import restriction negotiations, and the continuity of the High Commissioner s office was a most important consideration at the moment, with an almost immediate resumption of the discussions in view. It has been known for some time that in spite of the High Commissioner's first intention of retaining liis office only for one year his reappointment for a further terjji was being seriously considered, both by himself and by the Government. The Government is very pleased with the manner in which Sir' James has been advancing the interests of the Dominion, particularly through the extension of trade propaganda to the province^
