VALUE OF ADVERTISING
FACTOR IN RECORD YEAR " Newspaper advertising, that great force which creates demand and stimulates sales, has been entirely responsible for our success," said Mr. W. G. V. Fernie, manager of (-alder Mackay Company, of Christchurch, when reviewing the firm's fifth year of business, which, he said, had been a record one. " Advertising is the life-blood of our business, and by its aid we have ( drawn more than 42,000 customers to our store from all sections of the community," said Mr. Fernie. "Of course, advertising requires to be backed by real values in strict fulfilment of every promise made to customers, combined with the ability to offer service. On these foundations our business has been built, and it is with confidence that we look forward to the coming year."
