ANNUAL MEETINGS OF CLUBS GOOD PROSPECTS AT HOWICK The report and. balance-sheet presented to the annual meeting of the Howick Cricket Club were unanimously approved. The club had narrowly lost the third grade championship of the Auckland Cricket Association by only one point. Saturday The Tuakau Cricket Club at its annual meeting decided to enter a- team in the Pukekohe Cricket Association's competition, in which the matches are played on Saturday afternoons. There was a large attendance at the meeting,, at which the president, Mr. W. J. Deeble, presided. As the club had been accustomed in the past to play its games on Sundays, owing to many H embers being engaged at their ordinary occupations on Saturdays,- the question was discussed at length. A proviso was added that the club still permit of play occasionally on Sundays. The financial statement showed a credit of £2 7s lOd. Officers elected were:—Patron. Mr. Dyne» Fulton.- president, Mr. Deeble; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. Fr.ulkner. Rushworth, Chapman; secretary, Mr. B. Geraghty; club captain, Rev. L. E. Cartridge: vice-captain, Mr. L. Johnson; selectors, the Rev. Cartridge and Messrs. Hunkin and Firth; committee, the Rev. Cartridge and Messrs. Finch, Coad, Cunliffe, Geraghty. The committee was deputed to approach the Tuakau Recreation Ground Club with ,a view to having the recreation ground made available for oricket this season.
