LATE MR. S. M. HARRISON
TRIBUTES AT FUNERAL f . Public testimony to the very widespread esteem in which the late chief postmaster, Air. S. M. Harrison, was held, was given at the funeral services yesterday afternoon. Dr. W. H, Pcttit presided over a very large gathering in Scots Hall, when memorial tributes were paid by several speakers. Dr. Pettit and Mr. R. A, Laidlaw spoke chiefly of Mr. Harrison's religious activities, and Mr. H. McGill, actingchief postmaster, spoke of his own long association with Mr. Harrison, and Mr. Harrison's notable *vork for the postal department. The Scripture reading was taken by Mr. F, Bardslcy, siecrotary of the young people's Bible class movement, of which Mr. Harrison was the chairman. A cortege fully half-a-mile in length proceeded to Hillsborough Cemetery, and the floral tributes filled two cars. The pall-bearers at the hail were provided by associates of Mr. Harrison in his religious work, and at the graveside they were supplied by the staff of the Post and Telegraph Department. The service at the graveside was conducted by Mr. H. Yolland. Those present included many representatives of the business community with whom Mr. Harrison had been associated.
