SINISTER NATURE DISCOVERY OF BOMBS SEIZURES BY POLICE DRASTIC PRECAUTIONARY STEPS By Telegraph—Presf Association—Copyright (Received September 20, 7.45 p.m.) Times Cable LONDON, Sept. 13 The Madrid correspondent of tho Times reports that the police have discovered evidence of a revolutionary plot to destroy the police headquarters and various Ministries by bombing. The police have seized a truck containing bombs and ammunition, and have found other bombs and arms in various parts of Madrid. A complete chemical laboratory was discovered designed for the manufacture of liiyh o£plosives. The Premier, Senor Samper, stated that the Government was confident of being able to deal with any outbreak.
Following upon the discovery that Socialists were in possession of substantial supplies of smuggled arms, also of documents containing elaborate plans for a revolt, the Government has taken further drastic precautionary measures. Senor Samper late to-night visited the President, Don Alcala Zamora, and reported on the situation. The Government is convinced that members of the Left now possess all types of weapons, estimated to have cost at least £138,000. Civic Guards yesterday stopped a lorry loaded with rifles and ammunition and five liquid flame-throwers.
