HOSTEL FOR MAORIS
CONSTRUCTION AT PUKEKOHE GOVERNMENT GRANT OF £IOOO [from our own correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Thursday It was stated by Mr. G. T. Parvin at a meeting of the Pukekohe Borough Council last night that he had been advised by the Minister of Finance, the lit. Hon. J. G. Coates, that a £IOOO grant had been placed on the Supplementary Estimates as part of the cost towards erecting a hostel for Maoris at Pukekohe. The grant was made subject to a subsidy being received from the Franklin County Council and the Pukekohe Borough Council.
