BACON AND HAM DEARER FALL IN EGG PRICES An increase of Id a pound on all cuts of uncooked bacon and ham was the principal change in prices in the retail market during the week. On the other hand, the price of eggs, after remaining steady for some weeks, fell again by Id a dozen. Hen eggs are now selling at lid a dozen and duck at lOd. Island tomatoes have fallen slightly in value and are realising lOd a pound. ! The cheaper qualities of apples are be- | coming exhausted, with a consequent ! slight rise in price. South Australian I navel oranges continue to meet with a steady demand. 1 Schnapper and terakihi are fairly | plentiful, but hapuku and whitebait are extremely scarce.
