SPRING FLOWER SHOWS

DAFFODILS AT CAMBRIDGE PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP [from our own correspondent] CAMBRIDGE, Thursday The Cambridge Daffodil Society's 28th annual spring show was commenced in the Town Hall to-day. With the leading growers in the province exhibiting, a wonderful display of daffodils was presented. The Auckland provincial amateur daffodil championship was this year competed for at Cambridge and attracted nine entries. The winner was Mr. W. Danby, of Thames, Mrs. Robinson, of Putaruru, being second, and Mr. H. M. Hammond, of Hamilton,' third. Tlio daffodil cup was won for the third timo in succession by Mr. H. M. Hammond, with 36 points, Mr. \\. Danby being runner-up with 31 points. The champion blooms were exhibited by the following:—Leedsii, Mr. H. M. Hammond; incomparabilis, Mrs. Robinson; trumpet, Mr. W. Danby; barrii, Mr. H. M. Hammond. The district court cut-flower competition was again won by Bruntwood-Hautapu-Pukeroro, with Maungatautari second.

PUKEATUA SOCIETY'S DISPLAY

SUCCESSFUL FIXTURE HELD

[from our own correspondent] TB AWAMUTU, Thursday The Pukeatua Horticultural Society held its annual spring flower show yesterday. Special features were the displays of narcissi, including a collection of specimen blooms from Wanganui, and of home industries and needlework. In tho open section for narcissi Mrs. Crowley won the points prize and Mrs. Soloman staged the champion bloom. In tho novice section, Mrs. McKee won the points prize and championship, Mrs. Crowley won the points prize for cut flowers, Mrs. Anderson the points prizes for both pot-plants and decorations. Mrs. Crowley was successful in the novice section of decorative classes, and Mrs. F. Holmes won the points prize for home industries.

TAURANGA PRIZE-WINNERS

The Tauranga Women's Institute held a successful flower show. Results were:—Collection of spring flowers, Mrs. Cannell; Iceland poppies, Mrs. Harvey; vase of flowers, Mrs. Faulkner; posy, Mrs. Robinson; buttonhole, Mrs. Robinson.
