CIVIL ENGINEER'S VIEWS [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON. Wednesday A civil engineer, Mr. F. M. Dale, who returned from England by the Rotor ua to-day, remarked on the activity in building in England. What he had seen in Wellington in a few hours convinced him that the reinforced buildings here were as up-to-date as those in London. He referred to the amount of wood used in scaffolding in Wellington, and said he was surprised to see contractors using wood for such a purpose. Steel tubular scaffolding was more desirable and easier to handle. It was also more economical, lasting longer than timber, and it was much safer.
