FAILURE OF APPEAL
WAGGA MURDER CASE MOREY TO BE EXECUTED (Received September 14, 6.55 p.m.) SYDNEY. Seijt. 14 The Full Court of Criminal Appeal to-day dismissed the appeal of Edward Morey, who was convicted and sentenced to death at Wagga for the murder of Percy Smith in May. Morey based his appeal on fresh evidence to the effect that Moncrieff Anderson, a local resident, had confessed to the murder of Smith. The Court rejected this plea and confirmed tho death sentence. Anderson himself was subsequently killed and his wife, Lilian Anderson, was convicted of manslaughter on September 7 and sentenced to 20 years' imprisonment.
