CIVIC LEAGUE
It was decided at a meeting of the Civic League yesterday afternoon, Mrs. Kenneth Gordon, president, presiding, that the society would rejoin the Auckland branch of the League of Nations Union. Members were urged to attend the lecture which is to be- given by the city engineer toward the end of the month at the close of the ordinary council meeting, on the future development of the Auckland Domain. Provisions of the Child Welfare Act were discussed, also the matter of married women holding positions outside the home. It was decided to write to the Poultry Registration Board supporting the proposal that eggs for local consumption should be graded and marked "chilled." '
