DEATH OF MAORI CHIEF
TAMAIWHINA RAWIRI [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] THAMES. Thursday The death occurred last evening at Puriri of Tamaiwhina Rawiri, a chief of the Ngatimaru tribe, at the ago of 77 years. Rawirl was a well known resident of the Hauraki district, having lived there practically all his life. He was very interested m sport and. at one time he owned and raced several good horses On many occasions he was prominent at welcomes by Hie natives.
