ROTORUA NEWS

The Rotorua branch of the Returned Nurses' Association held a most successful bridge and five hundred party at the Nurses' Home at King George V. Hospital. The function was held to augment the Returned Nurses' Memorial Fund. The president of the association, Mrs. H. Bertram, received the guests wearing a frock of ebony lace, with mist blue chiffon velvet coatee. Assisting her was Miss Hay, who wore black velvet and georgette. Progressive bridge was played, the winners proving to be Mrs. E. La Trobe Hill, Mr. L. Poole and Mrs. B. Green, consolation prize. Mrs. A. Brown and Miss Jean Pearce, Fenton Street, are spending a holiday at Mount Maunganui, Tauranga. Mrs. J. E. Bachelor, Wellington, has been visiting Auckland and Rotorua. Miss McGregor, Southland, is spending a holiday in Rotorua and is a guest at the Gx-and Hotel. Mrs. A. C. Dannefaerd, North Auckland, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Holland while in Rotorua. Mrs. R. B. Wilson and Mrs. C. Knight, Auckland, are spending a golfing holiday in Rotorua. Mrs. Meikle, Te Aroha, is at the Grand Hotel while in Rotorua. Mrs. H. Boon, New Plymouth, is spending a holiday with Mrs. C. Grove, scnr., Fenton Street. Mrs. E. G. Guy motored to Wellington for a few .days last week. *
