BIRKENHEAD FIREMEN
BRIGADE'S ANNUAL BALL The annual ball of the Birkenhead Volunteer Fire Brigade was held last evening in the Foresters' Hall, and was largely attended and greatly enjoyed. Tho ladies' committee comprised: Airs. M. Carnaclian, Mrs. It. Cairns, Mrs. W. Atkins, Mrs. 11. Norton, Mrs. J. Leahy, Mrs. W. Roberts, Mrs. H. Ecclcs, Mrs. G. Turner, Mrs. L. Atkins. Messrs. W. J. Keymer and A. G. Jasper officiated as joint secretaries. Exhibitions of modern ballrom dances were given by Miss E. Stratton, partnered with her brother, Mr. Strattcn, and also by Mr. Geoffrey Crawford. The floor arrangements were in the charge of Senior-Foreman W. Roberts, assisted by Mr. P. J. McGovcrn, while tho lighting effects were arranged by Mr. F. Tothilf: Members of tho fire board present were: Messrs. R. R. Hn.vmnn and Mr. L. It. L. Mo'ler. Several sister-brigades wore represented.
