WIN FOR SOUTH CANTERBURY [BV TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] TIMARU, Sunday South Canterbury beat the touring terbury team yesterday by 25 points to 13 before 2000 people. The home backs were the deciding factor, the lino, of which Gaffanoy •was the pivot, giving a great display. Gnffaney's defence was flawleßß, while ho made splendid openings. Trotter, at centre, gavo a brilliant ■exhibition. The forwards were well matched, but the visiting backs were poor nnd ftut for good defence by Mortlock the margin would have been greater.
