COMBINATION LACKING The game between Marist and Papakura was very ragged throughout, and although tho score was close, Marist was the superior team, Thero was little combination shown by either side. The Pnpakura backs in particular lost opportunities through bad handling. The forwards, however, infused plenty of dash into their play, and wero successful in the loose. The Marist backs did a lot of useful spoiling work, although tho rear division kicked too much. It was a very disappointing display. Campbell, tho Marist fullback, played a sound game, his fielding being very certain. Glover nnd Brisbane were the pick of tho backs. Laird, Keane and Bakalich wove outstanding among the forwnrds. Tnylor and Watson were the best Papakura backs. Wilson played well at fullback. Pope and Francis were good workers among the forwards. For Marist, Campbell kicked three penalty goals. Watson scored a try for Papakura. Mr. S. Otto was referee LOWER GRADE RESULTS Second Grnde.—Mount Albert won from Ellerslie by default; Papakura won by default from Mn'ngere.

Except for one or two light showers the weather wns fino nnd the ground was in good order. There was a good attendmce, tho game being very fust and evonly contested. TuaUau.—ln a fast game, before a large attendance of spectators, I'uakau beat Qtahuhu by 27 points to HI. Tries were scored for Tuakau by R. Cooper (2), A, Wade (2), W. Warbriclc, T. Cooper, and C. Anderson. R.. Cooper converted two tries, nnd T. Cooper one. The try-gettors for Otahuhu were T. Why (3) and J. Stanaway. Two of Otahuhu's tries, were converted by Phillips. Mr. R. A.
