MR. W. ELLIOT'S WILL ■'! . TRUST FUND SET ASIDE PICTURES FOR THE CITY Under the will of the late Mr. William Elliot, of Auckland, who died at Townsville, Queensland, on July 31, a number of charitable organisations in. and about the city will benefit from a trust ho has created. The estate is a very large one, the value of which ha* not yet been accurately determined. From the estate a sum of £7250 ia to be set aside, and the income from this is to be divided into 29 equal parts and paid over proportionately to the organisations named. Four parta are to go to each of the following:—* St. Mary'B Homes, Otahuhu; the Presbyterian Church Home, Onehunga; the New Zealand Institute for the Blind; the City Mission; the Door of Hope. Mission; the Manurewa Children?® Home; Sister Esther. The remaining one part is alloted to the Newmarket Kindergarten. ■ / From his collection of paintings, Mr. Elliot has bequeathed three works to the City Council to be hung in th© Auckland Art Gallery. These are "A Frugal Meal," "A Busy Housewife," and "A Pastoral Scene," 1 the last being by Richard Ansdall, R.A., a work that was exhibited in the Royal Academy in 1566. One of the trustees in the estate it the Guardian Trust and Executor* Company of New Zealand, Limited. Arrangements have been made for Mr. Elliot to be buried in Auckland, and the body is expected to arrive from Australia by the Wanganella on Friday.
