HIGHWAYS BOARD PLANS AUGUST AND JANUARY A statement that the Main Highways Board proposed to xuidortake a traffic census of the whole of the more important highways and roads in the Dominion, the work to extend over 168 continuous hours in the last week of this month and January next, was contained in a lettor from the commissioner of unemployment, received at last night's meeting of the Mount Eden Borough Council. The council decided to co-operate by meeting any request by the board for available scheme No. 6 men to take the tallies, as suggested in tho letter. "As far as 1 know, the need for No. 5 scheme men will apply mainly in smaller centres, and I do not think our men will be required," said Mr. J. H.
