NOVEL TOUCH IN CHURCH
Some unique features in design are to be included in a new church at Moorends, near Doncaster. The belfry will be of customary appearance, but will contain, instead of bells, amplifying instruments for gramophone records of bells. In the church there will be an installation of loud-speakers in the nave, which will enable suitable records, such as organ music, to be broadcast to the congregation. It is the idea of Mr. W. Watson, secretary of the Church Council, and it is believed to be unique in England, although similar has been tried in the United States.
