"SINGING CLOWN" RETIRES
Mr. Joseph Charles Hodson, better known as "The Singing Clown," who for nearly 80 years has made England laugh, has retired Mr, Hodson, who is 87, is the oldest performing showman in the country. Ho and Mrs Hodson were two of the first peop 1 - to run a cinema show. It was at Morley, in Yorkshire, and their films cost over £3O each. When Mr. Hodson started ho used to wheel his show about all over the country on a push cart. Now it is one of the largest in the country, needing 18 horses to move it.
