OPOTIKI MASKED BALL
There was a good attendance at the masked ball held in the Lyric Hall, Opotiki, as the final entertainment of the carnival week. Decorations wore on a lavish scale and an enjoyable supper was provided by the ladies of the Sunshine League. Excellent music was rendered by tho Semla Orchestra and Mr. G. Hatton's Xomads.
Among those present in fancy costume were: —Mrs. H. Hudson, as a boy; Mrs. Bennett, wearing slacks and a sweater; Miss L. Wilson, Early Victorian; Miss P. Mausoll, Romeo; Miss M. Day, sailor; Miss E. Staveley, bellboy; Miss D. Anderson, sailor; Miss N. Johnson, Early Victorian; Miss N. Kemp, Egyptian lady; Miss P. McXee, Miss Deserter; Miss J. Staveley, a boy; Miss J. Parkinson, a boy; Miss J. Kirkbrido, ballet girl; Miss Leila Clark and Mr. K. De Montalk, couple in English period costume; Mr. G. Button, Robert Wolsev; Mr. J. Snell, a gentleman; Mr. L. Clark and Mr. T. Tankard, as wounded soldiers; Mr. C. Fleming, pierrot.
