ART EXHIBITION
LECTURES TO BE GIVEN COMMENCEMENT TO-NIGHT In order to increase the educative value fof the exhibition of contemporary British art organised by the Empire Art Loan Collections Society and now being held in the Art Gallery, a series of informal evening lectures is to be held in the gallery, commencing to-day. Tho addresses will be given by recognised Auckland authorities on art, and will deal with many aspects of the subject. The lecturers have been left free to choose their own subjects, and it is expected that most of the talkß will be illustrated by reference to pictures in the exhibition. The first speaker will be Mr. A. J. C. Fisher, director of the Elam School of Art. Other contributors to the series will be Mr. John Weeks, Mr. W. H. Wright and Mr. S. F. Champ, of tie Elam School, Professor F. E, Worley and Dr. R. P. Anschutz, of Auckland University College, Dr. E. B. Gunson, a member of the Mackclvie Trustees., Mr. C. R. Ford, president of the Auckland Society of Arts, Mr. P. Redwood and Mr. J. L. J. Wilson.
The lectures will be given at 7.30 p.m. from Mondays to Fridays, inclusive, and no additional charge will be made for admission. Attendances at tho exhibition continue to be satisfactory, and visits aro now being made to the gallery daily by parties of pupils from tho upper forms of secondary schools, under the charge of art teachers.
