KILLED BY GUARDS
AMERICAN GIRL CRIMINAL SEQUEL TO' ESCAPE (Received July 20, 5.35 p.m.) NEW YORK. July 19 A message from Little Rock, Arkansas, states that a complete review of the State penul system has resulted from the killing, a week ago, of a 22 year old female escaped prisoner by guards. They overtook her at a farmhouse, where gho was alleged to be attempting to obtain a motor-car at the pistol poins. The girl, who had a bad record, and had made five previous attempts to escape, was said by the' guards to have tried to shoot them. Under the present penal administration, which is only 18 months pld, 19 prisoners who tried to escape were fatally shot. Two guards are now under detention, one on a charge of first degree murder, and the other charged with being an accessory before the fact.
