SUCCESS OF NURSES
AUCKLAND HOSPITAL BOARD'S CONGRATULATIONS The success of Auckland nurses at the recent State examinations was the subject• of complimentary reference at a meeting of the Auckland Hospital Board yesterday. The chairman, Mr. W. Wallace, said he felt very proud indeed of the results of the examinations, particularly in so far as Auckland was concerned. There had certainly been a tightening up in the standard, and the tutor sisters at the hospital deserved the thanks and congratulations of the board. The fact that 22 nurses had passed out of a total of 2-i candidates wa§ a tribute to their work. Wellington was suffering from the fact that it had practically dispensed with its tutor sisters.
It was decided to send letters of congratulation to the tutor nurses, Miss Widdowson and Miss Hall, and to the lady superintendent, Miss E. Nutsey.
