OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP SOUTH AFRICAN WINS LONDON, July 4 Brews, the South African professional golfer, who was runner-aip to Henry Cotton in the British open., championship with a score of 288, has won the French open with a total of 284. The championship was played at Dieppe. Brews' rounds were 71 —68— 74 —71 —284. His 68 equals the course record.
Boyer and Boomer tied for second place with 286. Cotton, Sarazen and Kirkwood did not compete.
