WEDDING

WATSON—ASSER wedding was celebrated at St. Aidan's Church, Remuera, yesterday afternoon, of Miss Helen Verney Asser, daughter of Mrs. and the late' Mr. P. Asser. Orakei Road, Remuera, to Mr. Ktruan Robertson Watson, third son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. McG. Watson. Invercargill. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. R. L. Connolly. The bride, who was given away by her cousin, Mr. D. G. Commons, wore a charming frock of angelskiu lace, fashioned on slender lines, the v-sbaped neck-line and long sleeves being fini.sued with bands of ivory angelskin satin. The skirt flared gracefully from the knees into a long pointed train, over which fell her Jong veil of ivory tulle, folded softly across the head, and held in place by a small bunch of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of Deucho azalea, white cyclamen and maidenhair fern. In attendance were Miss Leslie Cook (Tauranga) and Miss Nancy Ballantyne. Their frocks were of ice-blue diagonal twilled Ottoman silk, cut on slim-fitting lines with the sleeves pulled to the elbow, and tightfit Ling to the wrists. They wore Dolly Varden hats of blue velvet, and carried slieaves of cyclamen and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. J. B. Lockhart, as best, man, and Mr. N. L. Watson, as groomsman. Acting as ushers were Messrs. V. Wilson, C. Partridgo and G. King. Following the ceremony a reception was held at 1 he home <>i' the bride's mot her. Mrs. Asser received her guests in a graceful frock of black georgette and lace. Her black velour hat was finished with ospreys, and she carried a bouquet of violets and daphne. Mrs. Watson, the bridegroom's mother, was in silver grey crepe suede and lace, and a black velour bat. She carried a bouquet of violets and carnations. Mrs. G. L. Cook (Tauranga). aunt of the bride, wore a wine georgette and lace ensemble, and a wine velvet hat. Miss L. F. Watson, sister of the bridegroom, was in a Lido blue georgette frock and Lido blue leghorn hat trimmed with flowers. The bride travelled in a navy Angora wool frock and small navy blue felt hat to match.
