CITRUS FRUIT IMPORTS
HOPES FOR LIFTING BAN [BY TKLKGRAI'H —I'll ESS association] WELLINGTON. Wednesday A question whether the embargo on citrus fruits other than South Australian would be lifted this year and the free entry of citrus fruits permitted was asked by Mr. A. Hargest (.Government —Lnvercargill) in the House of Representatives to-day. The Hon. C. E. Macmillan, Minister of Agriculture, replied that the question of lifting the embargo was the subject. of negotiation between the New Zealand and Australian Governments. Ho was expecting a communication from the Commonwealth Government and hoped that the negotiations would be brought to a satisfactory conclusion at an early date.
