SCHOOL EXAMINATION
REPLY TO CRITICISM Intimation that it would give careful consideration to suggestions for the amendment or regulations relating to the school certificate examination was received from tho Education Department by the Auckland Education Board at its meeting yesterday. The letter stated that the present prescriptions and fees were tentative and it was hoped that when the certificate had been established it would be possible to make concessions in regard to fees and to include additional subjects lor which provision was lacking. Among these subjects would be many forms of art and craft work, practical work in science and agriculture and wood and metal handicrafts. It was pointed out that candidates for the joint examination for university entrance and school certificate would be required to pay cniv one fee of two guineas. The letter was received.
