THE PIG INDUSTRY
Sir,—With regard to a letter mentioning unemployed building sties for farmers, I suggest that the men be put on the land for pig raising, on the rotation cropping system. Crops such as maize, barley, oats, pumpkins, swedes, carrots, peas, sugar beet, lucerne, and especially artichokes, can be grown in North Auckland all the year round. Ono farmer at Tauwhare sold all his dairy cows to devote his holding to the above system. His income has been considerably increased by this venture. A meeting of the Pig Indugtry Board, North Auckland Land Board, and Unemployed Board on this question would help considerably. E. W. Mintek.
