JUNIOR MANAGEMENT BOARD The cases of two junior players ordered of! in recent matches were considered at last ; overling's meeting of the junior management hoard of the Auckland Rugby Union, An Eastern Suburbs'player appeared beforo the board and received suspension for one playing Saturday. WIN FOR AUCKLAND B THAMES TEAM DEFEATED [from our own correspondent] THAMES, Tuesday The Auckland B Rugby team defeated Thames yesterday by 35 points to 14. There was a large attendance and the weather was beautifully fine. The Thames forwards played a better game than the Auckland pa«k but the visiting backs .were decidedly superior, especially on, defence. Auckland was the first to score but at half-time >Thames led •by one point, the score being .6 to 5 in the home team's favour. However, _in the second spell Auckland soon regained the lead and held the advantage, eventually winning by, 25 points to 14; For Auckland tries were scored by Buckley (2), Pearson. GAMES AT KAITAIA [by telegraph —OWN correspondent] KAITAIA, Tuesday A most successful seven-a-side tournament was held by tho Mangonui Rugby Union at Kaitaia yesterday, the proceeds being for the county hospital enlargement fund. Ten senior, 11 junior and seven third grade teams entered for the tournament and soma good spectacular play was witnessed by a large attendance. In the senior division Kaitaia B and Ahipara played in the semifinals, Kaitaia winning by one point. Owing to darkness the final between Kaitaia and Awanui had to be postponed. In the junior division the final could not bo played on or, account of the darkness. The final in tho third grade section was won by Kaitaia A, which beat Valley by 3 points to 0. MATAMATA BEATS TE AROHA [from our own correspondent] TE AROHA, Tuesday A Rugby football match was played here yesterday between tho Matamata and Te Aroha representative teams, the former winning by 26 points to G. Tries for Matamata were scored by D. Carlson (3), Solomon (2) and W. Carlson. Tho last-named converted two tries and kicked a_ penalty goal, whilo Settle potted a goal. Kelvin and McCarthy scored for Te Aroha. Matamata won the junior match by 8 points to 3, while in tho third grado tho result was a draw without any ecore.
