NORTHCOTE BOROUGH
FINANCIAL POSITION Tho Northcote Borough Council met last evening, tho Mayor, Mr. R. Martin, presiding. s "Apart from the sanitation account, all accounts are in a fair position," stated the town clerk, in presenting a statement of the financial position for tho year ended March 31. "The waterworks maintenance account shows a small debit, but when all the legally collectable water rates and charges are paid, this account will show a small credit." Tho receipts totalled £24,8G5 and the expenditure £20,800. The bank overdraft had been reduced to £1760; Regarding the proposal for joint representation of the North Shore on tho council of the Auckland Institute and Museum, tho Mayor said he saw no necessity for sectional representation. It was decided to vote in the forthcoming election for three members to represent the suburban local authorities, lor those considered to be tho thrco best candidates.
